Cold Beef Favored with Orange Peel

Ingredients

Serves 4

Main ingredients:
200g thinly sliced beef
Ginger root
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
White sesame seeds

Seasonings:
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon shao-hsing wine (Chinese rice wine)
Salt pepper
2 tablespoons stock
1 teaspoon dried orange peel powder

Seasonings:
Welsh onion
Chinese parsley




Directions

  1. Combine the seasonings in a bowl. Cut the beef into 4cm-long pieces and add to the bowl. Mix so that the meat is well seasoned.

  2. Cut the ginger into small, thin slices.

  3. Cut the Welsh onion into very thin strips and soak in water.

  4. Place one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a baking dish, and spread the ginger slices over it. Cover with plastic wrap and heat in a microwave oven at 500W for 1 minute.

  5. Take out the dish and remove the plastic wrap. Spread the beef evenly over the ginger, cover with plastic wrap and reheat in a microwave oven for 5 minutes.

  6. Remove the plastic wrap and heat the beef again in a microwave oven for 1 minute. Allow it to cool.

  7. Place the Welsh onion and Chinese parsley on a plate in a decorative manner. Add the beef at the center and top with white sesame seeds.
