Stewed Sardines with Ginger Sauce

Remove the scales, head and the entrails from the sardines,
rinse and remove excess water. Thinly slice half the ginger and
cut the other half into needle-thin sticks. |

Combine the seasonings in a pan and bring to a boil. Add the
sliced ginger and sardines. Cover with a lid slightly smaller than
the pan and simmer. |

Serve the sardines on a dish, pour some sauce over them and
heap ginger sticks on top. |
