| P | Rinse the rice at least 30 minutes prior to cooking, and drain. |

| Q | Boil the chestnuts for 4 - 5 minutes. When the shells soften, remove the outer shells along with the astringent coating, using a knife. |
| R | Place the rice, water and seasonings in a rice cooker and cook it the same way you would cook regular rice. |
