1Sprinkle the tuna with salt and pepper, coat it with flour, and remove any excess flour.
2Wrap the yam in a dishcloth and smash it with a pestle.

1Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan and place the tuna in the pan on the opposite side that shows when served. Fry both sides until golden brown.
2Combine the ingredients for the savory sauce in a small pan and bring to a boil.

Place the tuna steak on a dish and pour the sauce over it. Top with the mashed yam and sprinkle with green nori powder. Garnish with thinly sliced pickled ginger.
