| Green peas (in pods) |

‚PRinse the rice, and drain. Combine the rice with the water and place it in a rice cooker. Set it aside for 30 minutes before cooking.
‚QRemove the peas from the pods (Discard the yellowish ones). Rinse the peas,
drain and sprinkle them with the sake and salt. |

‚PAdd the peas to the rice and mix them. Cook the rice in the same way as you would cook regular rice.
‚QAfter the rice is done, allow enough time for the rice to settle in its own heat. Wet a wooden spatula and mix the rice with the peas in a cutting motion.
‚RServe the pea rice in individual bowls. |

@Because the skins of peas becomes hard after they are exposed to air, remove
the peas from their pods just before you cook them with rice. |
